Four

Our Lucille is four. FOUR!
According to her, she is a big girl now and all grown up.
Okay, sweet girl.

We're so proud of how smart, brave, creative, and confident our little girl has become. She is so outgoing like her daddy and loves an audience! She has a big personality and loves people. She is also very active and always up to something. She brings so much joy and happiness to us.

Her favorite color is light pink and she is quite proud of her strawberry blonde hair. She loves going to ballet class. She has been reminding me that she wants to be signed up for swimming and soccer again.

She currently wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up, so it is convenient that she lives at a University with a great veterinarian program. She loves it when the vet hospital has an open house. One of her favorite things to do right now is play nurse with her T-Rex toy. He is constantly covered in makeshift bandages and even had a cone around his neck for a while.

We recently had her four year check up at it went great! I felt like she had more growth spurts than usual for her this past year and I was right! It was nice to finally see where she is now on the growth charts. Here are her stats:

Height: 39 inches
Weight: 29 lbs

We were so excited to hear that she is no longer an outlier on the growth charts. She is in the 7th percentile for her weight, which is awesome considering her percentile used to be a decimal! We were able to finally get rid of that "failure to thrive" label she had been given. She is one inch away from getting to face forward in her car seat and one pound away from needing a new life jacket.

We did get a referral to the eye doctor, so she'll be getting her first eye check up soon. Her vision results in the office weren't generally indicative of getting a referral, but the vision issues I had as a child are important to catch early. I got my first pair of glasses at 5 years old and no longer need them!

Four new things for Lucille:
  1. I just took her on our first mommy daughter lunch date and she was so good! She sat patiently and was polite. We shared spaghetti and meatballs. She didn't even make a mess and she cleaned her plate!
  2. We're all geared up for our first backpacking trip. Official dates TBA, but we've been preparing by hiking often.
  3. She had her first ballet recital and she was so excited to get all dressed up with her dance friends! She was so sweet and tried to look for her adoring fans in the audience most of the recital. It was so cute.
  4. She has acquired her own little garden of sorts, thanks to some of the best birthday gifts ever! She has her own lettuce, mint, tomato plant, and mini butterfly garden that she is taking care of. It has been so fun for her to water them and watch them grow.
