There were also some pretty good sized tree branches in the backyard, but one day when Michael and I were out and about, the yard service came by and the yard was good as new when we returned.
I thought we would have to clean up the yard before they'd mow, but they did it for no extra charge! They were scheduled to mow the day the hurricane hit and called me the day before saying that they probably wouldn't be able to make it out. I really wasn't too worried about it, you know. So, a clean yard a few days after the storm was a nice surprise!
Our rental office, who just coninues to exceed my expectations, called the day after the storm to make sure everything was okay. I told them about the french doors leaking water into the dining room and the mail box. They had a new mailbox up the next day and had someone look at the doors.
Isn't just lovely? :) I'm pretty sure that we only got a nice one because options were limited. The maintance man said that the mailboxes were really picked through and that there were only two posts left when he went to the store. Evidently we weren't the only ones with mailbox issues after Irene.
He had to order a part to stop the door from leaking, so we asked him to wait and come back with it in a couple weeks so that we'd know that someone would be here to let him in, seeing that we were going on vacation to Charleston in a few days at that point. It wasn't too big of a deal because we have tile in that room. He actually fixed it a few days ago and it has already held up to some pretty heavy rain. :)
One more thing: this is my 50th post! A little milestone for me, I'm hoping to step up my game and get that number of posts to double by the end of the year. Do you think I make that happen?
Wow 50! Nice mail box. I think you should enlarge the beach picture with the little wooden fence. It would look nice framed. Mom
ReplyDeleteAw, so cute. I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteKelsey! I just assumed everyone was as bad at blogging as I am. Apparently I have some posts to catch up on!
ReplyDeleteI love your new mailbox. The post especially. It's as cute as a mailbox can be!
