Oh, Lovely Day!

I love Valentines day. I always have. Perhaps it has something to do with the anticipation of my birthday. :)

Lucy "helped" me make heart shaped cookies the night before.  I let her participate in the kitchen as much as I can, but sometimes it gets a little out of control. Like... I turn around for a second and BAM... all she has is a big toe touching the step stool and the rest of her body is hunched over the sink with a spatula in her mouth that is was covered is cookie dough batter. Raw eggs and all.  All she could say was "Eat it!" and be all adorable. Bless her heart.

We had fun.

She even got an after breakfast cookie to kick off the day. Don't worry they're organic, whole grain, and sweetened with maple syrup. I made enough for Michael to take to school, but occasionally he isn't one to share. This was one of those occasions.

I let her open all her valentines before nap.

She LOVED all of them so much. Grandma and papa sent her an Elmo card; she had never seen Elmo before and she thought he was a crab. :)

Seriously though, she was in heaven. Little boxes of raisins, a card that dances AND sings, stickers, and a Charlie Brown movie.

While she was napping, Michael stopped by the house real fast and dropped off roses for me and a balloon for Lucy. He also checked the mail and there was one more valentine for Lucy in it -- a Hello Kitty card and more stickers from her great-grandparents.

She was very anxious to get downstairs after her nap when I told her what was waiting downstairs.

She loves balloons and Hello Kitty. I'm pretty sure she is inheriting her mama's love for Valentine's day too!

Happy Love

February is my favorite month. It gets a little extra consideration from me because its my birthday month, but I think it could still win if it weren't. It happens during my favorite season, winter. So, you can still expect snow. I love snow. It feels like it is almost spring almost, which I also love! It is shorter than any other month, even during leap years.

Oh and it has Saint Valentine's Day right in the middle of it! I love Valentine's Day. All of it.  My momma crocheted us the best valentines this year. :)
A scarf for Michael!

Heart garland for me!

Lucille got a sweet little paci/toy clip with little wooden hearts on it. I can't wait until my little baby is old enough to enjoy me making a big fuss about little holidays like this. Tacky window decorations. Heart shaped pancakes. Festive hand print art.  Things like that. :)

We're celebrating happy love for Valentine's Day this year. We have lots of happy here. And lots of love.

I love making my baby laugh.

I finally put up the chalkboard contact paper that Michael got me for Christmas. I love that stuff. I want to cover all my kitchen cabinets with it. I probably won't, but if I had a ton of chalkboard contact paper and time I would! :)

I made a chore schedule last month. Wish I would have done it sooner. I used to run around crazy during Lucille's naps trying to clean anything I could, only to be disappointed by what I didn't get done. Now I just have a small list of daily cleaning goals. Then each weekday I focus any extra cleaning time on a specific area of the house.

Lucille's new favorite thing to do is push around her walker wagon. We'll set it up so she can walk from the living room to the dining room and then we will turn her around so she can come back.

Here is a short little video for you. She is kind of running in the couch and distracted by the camera, but you'll get the idea. (I have all these long videos that won't load, so this is all you get!)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you have a sweet day!

Twenty-Six Weeks

Posting this one a little late! Forgive me, I've been having a wonderfully busy week.

My twenty-six week mark landed on Valentine's day and oh, it was a great day. It was the first Valentine's day I've had the opportunity to spend with Michael. We started it out right by making some homemade cinnamon rolls (with pink icing!). We stayed up late the night before so we could exchange gifts after midnight. We tend do that with gift-giving. We're impatient. :)

So how am I feeling at twenty-six weeks?

Amazed. I can't believe that next week is the last week of my second trimester.
Big. My shirts are getting really tight!
Hungry. I've finally made it above my pre-pregnancy weight by a whole three pounds!
Thankful. All my swelling from Disney World went away.
Achy. Did you know that it is normal to get carpal tunnel when you're pregnant? Ouch!
Tired. Yawn! Is it nap time yet?
Happy. I'm so happy and excited right now! Loving life with the love of my life! :)

My birthday was yesterday and Michael made me the most delicious cake. Pineapple zucchini cake with cream cheese frosting! We ate what was left of it for breakfast this morning. I highly recommend you try out that recipe. You won't be disappointed. :)

Miss Baby Wiggles is about the size of a head of lettuce now! The Bump says that she has eyelashes and will soon start to open her eyes.
